The subject name is only the starting point. Your child’s qualification, syllabus and upcoming papers help us choose the right tutor and decide what the lessons need to cover.
IGCSE
For the International General Certificate of Secondary Education, we work on subject understanding alongside exam technique. Recent schoolwork and assessments help us see where your child needs a clearer explanation, more practice or help putting an answer on paper.
AS Level
At Advanced Subsidiary Level, tuition follows the greater depth of the course. We look at how securely your child understands the earlier work, then address the concepts and questions they are meeting in their current subjects.
A Level
For Advanced Level students, the particular papers ahead matter. Tell us whether your child is continuing from AS or preparing for the full A Level together, so we can discuss support for the content and assessment they are working towards.
Lessons shaped around your child’s subjects
In Maths, we work through the ideas behind a calculation and the steps needed to explain a solution. In Physics and Chemistry, lessons connect theory with calculations and scientific reasoning. English tuition gives students time to work closely on reading, language and written responses for their course.
We also support Biology and other Cambridge subjects. Share the subject names and syllabus codes, if you have them, so we can discuss the relevant tutor match. A recent paper or piece of schoolwork is a useful starting point for that conversation.
For younger Cambridge learners, lessons focus on the foundations they are learning at school. You do not need to wait for an exam year to seek help with a subject your child is finding difficult.
From assessment to exam practice
Understand where marks are being lost
We assess subject knowledge and common errors, looking at both the fundamentals and how your child approaches a question. This helps us distinguish a gap in understanding from a difficulty with timing or exam technique.
Choose the tutor and plan the work
We match a tutor from our own team to the student, subject and syllabus. The assessment informs the programme, with the upcoming school assessments or exam series in view.
Teach, practise and review
One-on-one lessons give your child room to ask questions and work through difficult ideas. Structured work between lessons and mock tests help them apply that knowledge, practise under exam conditions and work on the relevant papers and marking requirements.
Your tutor and Education Leader
Every one of our Cambridge tutors scored distinctions in high school, has studied at university, passed our intake exams with distinction, and then completed our tutor training programme with distinction.
Your Education Leader is responsible for the programme. They select and supervise the tutor, adjust the focus as your child progresses and keep your family informed. You have someone to speak to about how the work is going, as well as a tutor who gets to know your child.
Our Cambridge tutors not only know the work but also know how to teach it; our students frequently improve their marks by 20%.
Planning Cambridge tuition
Can we enquire about preparation for the October/November exams?
Yes. Tell us the exam series and year, the subjects and the papers your child is preparing for. We can then discuss their needs and the time available. The programme is based on an assessment; lesson arrangements are confirmed with your family before tuition begins.
You can also enquire about another exam series, school mocks or ongoing support during the year.
Do you offer lessons at home or online?
We offer one-on-one tuition at home in the areas we serve, and online. Tell us where you live and which subjects your child takes so we can discuss a suitable arrangement. We also work with students following a homeschool or online-school programme.
What should I include when I enquire?
Tell us your child’s stage, subjects, location and what has prompted you to look for a tutor. If an exam is approaching, include the series and year, syllabus codes and papers where known. You can put these details in the message on our enquiry form; you do not need every detail to get in touch.
