Put Your Psychology Degree to Work

Your psychology training can become practical, people-centred work from your first week. As an Education Leader, you assess how a child learns, design their programme and guide the family and tutor team around them. This is a full-time, salaried role in Fourways, Johannesburg - never an internship. R28,000/month starting salary, from day one, including training - plus performance incentives and bonuses.

What the job really involves

An Education Leader runs a child’s whole learning programme. You meet the family, assess how the child learns, design the plan, choose and coach the tutor team, and work with parents, teachers and psychologists as the child progresses. The role is analytical and deeply human. It also includes premium consultative work: families choose Genius because you understand their child and can explain a thoughtful plan.

Why psychology graduates thrive here

Your degree gives you a strong base for assessment, feedback and relationships. Genius adds structured training from day one, guided by an experienced team leader, while you are employed on a full salary.

Every Education Leader also has weekly personal-development sessions with a registered psychologist, paid in full by Genius. You can build a documented record of client-facing work, complete our training and receive a certificate, and work closely enough with leaders to earn meaningful referee reports. These are useful additions to a future master’s application. This remains professional education experience, rather than clinical training or an HPCSA post.

It can also become the career itself. Our Chief Operating Officer started as an Education Leader in 2021.

“Becoming a part of the Genius team has been absolutely life-changing! Who knew that growth could be this exponential? Genius has equipped me with a new learning and growth-focused outlook on life. I’ve learned to reflect, adapt and apply myself in various contexts. The skills that I’ve acquired and the multi-disciplinary professionals I’ve collaborated with are promoting my development as a professional in the educational and psychological field.”
